August 12, 1928 - September 19, 2011 William H. Saylor (Bill) age 83, a part time resident of Unincorporated Gilpin county Colorado and Gilbert, Arizona, passed away on September 19, 2011. Bill was one of nine children born to Joseph and Mary Saylor on August 12, 1928 in Greenfield Iowa. He grew up hunting and fishing on their Iowa farm. He graduated from Greenfield High School class of 1946. Bill at age 17 1/2, and one of his brothers enlisted in the Marines towards the end of World War II. When he returned from the service he continued his education at Buena Vista College in Storm Lake, Iowa. Played three of his four College years on the Buena Vista Football Team. He kept a year of College Football eligibility just in case the Denver Broncos came calling. They never did, but he remained an avid Bronco fan. He graduated with a History and Physical Education Degree. During College he took a job with the Alcoa Company Selling Wear Ever. He began a very successful career as President of his own business with Wear Ever. This would last for over 40 years. In 1951 he had an appointment to sell a set of Wear Ever with a College girl in Cedar Falls, Iowa. He asked her out, and a year later was married to Doris June. Bill had four children, Tammy, Tom, Chris and Amy. He is also survived by his older sister Maxine of Stuart, Iowa. There are currently five grand children, two great grand children and many nieces and nephews. Always quick with a joke, many enjoyed Bill for his wit and intelligence. His family loved him as a Father and a devoted Christian.
