September 7, 1921 - October 29, 2011 90, born to William Junior Wood and Cecil Thomas Wood in Oakville, Kentucky , passed away on October 29, 2011. Bill was a Marine who served his country with pride. He fought in the Pacific Theater during WWII and was promoted to Corporal during the campaign. He earned a Silver Star in the battle at Guadalcanal. He was also a dedicated Mason. He was a two time Past Master of Joppa Lodge, as well a member of Arvada Lodge and Paul Revere Lodge. Bill was a KCCH in the Scottish Rite in the Denver Consistory, a KYCH in York Rite in Denver Council, a Noble in El Jebel Shrine, a member of the Royal Order of Scotland and he also served as a Past District Lecturer. Services for Bill will be held on November 17, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Arvada Presbyterian Church. There will be a luncheon following services at the church. Graveside services will be held at Arvada Cemetery, 5581 Independence Street, Arvada, CO 80002. Please make all donations to the El Jebel Shrine Transportation Fund.
