March 10, 1936 - January 19, 2014 Bill was born on March 10, 1936, at Mercy Hospital in Denver. He was the youngest of 4 children born to Will Pietrafeso and Geraldine Vendegnia Pietrafeso. His brothers Lou and Mike, and his sister Roseanna McHenry all preceded him in death. Bill Pietrafeso passed away on January 19, 2014. He served as an Army MP at Ft. Gordon Georgia, and was the featured drummer in the 60 piece base band. After his military service he played professionally in Denver and Las Vegas. He opened his first restaurant Pietra's Pizzeria in 1963, and later sold it to the current owner, Paul DeMott. Other restaurants he owned included Bripeto's Italian Restaurnt, Cugino's Italian Restaurant, Pietrafeso's and La Trave' Italian Restaurant. He was a state champion trapshooter and enjoyed many weekends shooting at “clay pigeons”. At 8 years old he met his life time friend, Francis Brehm, Jr. He and Fran were closer than brothers. On August 2, 1971, he married his soul mate, Barbara Chojnowski. They enjoyed over 42 years together laughing and loving. Bill was a man of integrity, honesty and ethics. He touched many lives with his support, generosity and thoughtfulness. He survived by his wife, Barb, his best friend and the brother of his heart Fran Brehm, his sister-in-laws, Dorothy Pietrafeso and Kay Roland; his nephews Andy and Mike Pietrafeso, and Mike Roland; his nieces Erin and Jhonna McHenry, Moira Will, Donna Kretzer and Diana Roland; also his beloved cousin, Mary Pomarico. He is also survived by numerous other cousins and friends. He was a member of the Potenza Lodge, Fiore d'Italia, Sons of Italy, WSA Trailblazers Lodge #41, and the Arvada Elks. Services for Bill will be held Saturday, January 25, 2014, 10:30 AM, at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, 3549 Navajo Street, Denver, CO. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
