Ward was born in Dubuque, Iowa to Lillian and Herbert Huevelman. He was an only child who had a passion for model railroading early on and remained on that track throughout his life. He became an avid golfer as a child and joined his Central High School(Sioux City, IA) and college teams(Morningside and Iowa State). Golf was a hobby and an obsession through his life. He graduated Iowa State and took Jean Marie Kann as his wife on July 7, 1951. They moved out of their home states(IA & IL) to NJ and would move many times during their 70 years of marriage. Ward’s career took them to many locations on the East Coast and west coasts as well as across the Atlantic in England. He retired in Lake Forest, IL, and eventually moved to Littleton,Colorado to be nearer to family. He is survived by his wife(Jean). They had three boys, Michael and Richard(both deceased) and James(Jeanette) and two granddaughters (Kendal(Nick) & Torey) and one great grandson(Jayce). Ward was accomplished in his vocation and was deeply loved by his family. He traveled the world and was well read. He was an unassuming man with a great sense of humor. He will be forever missed and loved by those that knew him.
