Ursula Margareta Tuers

January 28, 1937 — July 28, 2017

In Memory of Ursula Margareta Tuers January 28, 1937 – July 28, 2017 Ursula (Ulla) went to be with the lord on July 28th, 2017. She is now at peace in the arms of God and all her love ones that have gone before. Ulla was born in Aschaffenburg Germany and spent several years in the tiny village of Sulzfeld, during World War II. Life was not easy during that time but their strong family bond got them through it. After spending a year in England as a nanny, she met a handsome soldier on a blind date. Dick was a lucky man, as it was love at first sight. Roughly a year later, she hopped on a ship and headed for the United States as a permanent resident. There she was welcomed with open arms into a family that has always been warm and loving. Not long thereafter, Dick and Ursula both headed back to Germany to be married. Once they returned to the United States, they eventually called Colorado home. There they started their family with Susie, Eric and Mike. Ulla was a devoted wife and mother who lived her life instilling the importance of family. She was always there with a loving smile, gentle touch and encouraging words. Everything Ulla did and every person she met, she treated with the love of God in her heart and a smile in her eyes. Ulla had an artist’s sole. From a young lady, she had always wanted to pursue fashion design. Circumstances didn’t allow her to do that, but that didn’t stop her. She designed and sewed all her own cloths anyway. Ulla also had a love for her native Bavarian Folk Art. She started out small, but it didn’t take long before she was painting furniture and even complete kitchens. She didn’t stop there. After being inspired by working at a Native American jewelry shop, Ulla started making her own treasure necklaces that people all over are still wearing today. On October 10, 2003, Ulla became an official United States Citizen. Her German citizenship was her birth right. Her US citizenship was her dream. To all those family and friends that have been there, through thick and thin, thank you. The love, friendship and support not just given to Ulla, but the whole family, has been priceless.
