January 21, 1928 - February 25, 2013 Tom Canjar, born in Denver, Colorado on January 21, 1928 died in his beloved hometown on February 24, 2013, at the age of 85. He was preceded in death by his son, Vincent Michael, and his daughter, Sheri Lynn (Francis). He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marilyn, his daughters Debbie and Theresa; and his sons, Arnie and Mitch. Tom's legacy includes his son-and-daughters-in-law, 10 grandchildren and their spouses, and 4 great-grandchildren. Tom attended Annunciation grade and high schools in Denver. He served in the United States Army from 1946 - 1948 and was stationed in the Republic of Korea throughout that time. Tom had a full career in the commercial refrigeration and heating industry. He loved the Rocky Mountains and was an avid Denver Broncos fan. His sense of humor was unmatched. Tom touched countless numbers of lives through his active and devoted practice of his Catholic faith and his commitment to Alcoholics Anonymous. His heart had room for every person who needed his guidance, laughed at his incredible wit, and benefitted from his wisdom. More than anything, Tom loved his family. He worked tirelessly to provide all that was needed and instilled in his children his work ethic, his integrity and the precious gift of his Catholic faith. This world has lost a good and decent, noble and honorable man. Farewell, my Sweetheart. We love you, Dad. We miss you, Papa. We will see you in heaven. Funeral Services to take place Thursday February 28, 2013, Rosary; 10:00am, Mass; 11:00am both at St. Dominic Catholic Church, Denver. Donations may be made to St. Dominic Catholic Church, Denver Hospice, or Alamo Club. Arrangements under the direction of Malesich and Shirey Funeral Home.
