November 25, 1926 - December 15, 2013 Theron (Skip) Lawson was born on Thanksgiving Day, 1926, in Denver, Colorado. His mother never forgave him for making her miss out on the pumpkin pie. He joined the US Navy at the age of 17. During WW Two, he served in the Pacific Theater and in the North Atlantic. He served on the Augusta, which was sunk by a torpedo, and the Columbia, which a suicide bomber hit. When he came home from the war, he married Ernestine Stock in May of 1946. At the time of Theron's passing they had been married 67 years, 7 months. They had one daughter, Linda (John) and three grandchildren, Jeff (Constance), Matthew (Melanie) and Jaimy (pronounced Jamie) (Doug) and seven great grandchildren: Crystal, Johnathan, Austin, Jordan, James, Brelin and Anna. Skip went to work when he was 9 years old selling papers. He was so poor he used a newspaper to line his shoes because they had no soles. He accomplished many things in his life He was a truck driver for many years. While he always worked for trucking companies, he also owned a trash removal company, 2 small trucking companies, and a lawn service. During his lifetime he owned 22 houses plus the one they lived in 57 years. He was always a devoted family man. He helped his entire family every way he could, from presents at Christmas to housing and cars. He was always thinking of his family. Even saving sugar packets for them when he was in the nursing home. He will be greatly missed, always loved and someday we will all be together again.
