Terry Mccloskey

Born July 9, 1951 to the late Jean and Eugene McCloskey of Wheat Ridge Colorado, Terrence (Terry) was the second oldest son and third oldest child of six children. It was evident from a very early age, that Terry’s red hair meant he was going to push buttons, challenge the status quo and live life on his terms. While he enjoyed sports and excelled in school, his passion was for music. He had an amazing natural talent for all music just like his father and many of his siblings, but drums were his favorite instrument. On a hot summer night, most of the kids in the neighborhood would gather around the McCloskey’s garage to listen to his band play. This was the beginning of things to come! His love of music continued throughout his life and he played in many bands across the country including playing in the family band with his father Eugene and sister Jacki. He was an accomplished musician to say the least. In addition to being a musician he worked at Continental Airlines in sales. In 1989 Terry had his first and only child, Ian Eugene McCloskey. Ian was the apple of his eye and he continually expressed his pride in Ian's accomplishments and character. Throughout his life, family and friends were always very important to Terry and he made great efforts to keep in touch with his loved ones. Terry will always be remembered for his wit, humor and love of life, but also for his compassion and empathy he had for others. He was a very generous man and gave of his time, talent and treasure freely. We will miss our “red headed” brother, father and friend. He will always be in our hearts and we are all better people to have known him. He is survived by his son Ian, siblings Dennis Patrick McCloskey, Kathleen Marie McCloskey, Cecilia Jean Harris, Jacqueline Rausch, Marcia van de Boogaard and numerous nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.
