Ted J McCoy passed in peace at the age of 82 on 10/12/2020. Preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Rosie McCoy and sister Jane Nielsen, and as Ted said “an army of angels waiting to welcome him”! Ted J McCoy was born August 22, 1938 in Arvada, Colorado and grew up in Golden, Colorado. For those of you who don’t know, the “M” on the mountain stands for McCoy, not Mines! Ted married Rubye Charon Hardendorf on June 27, 1958. They raised four children, Wes, Teddie Jo, Dennis and Deanna. Proud Grandpa to Matthew, Seth, Tiffany, Barbara, Dallas, Joshua, Amy, Joe, and Dylan. Loving Great Grandpa to Nathan, Benjamin, Judah, Lexi, Ruby, James, Kacey and Adaline, and one soon to be born. Treasured brother to Wanda, Mildred, Virginia, Ronnie, and Lonnie. Ted was an Uncle for “too many to count!” but considered so much more. Ted worked hard his whole life in commercial flooring and was always ready to help a family member or friend in need. Ted was an adventurer of life and loved the outdoors hunting and fishing in some of the more remote places in Colorado. He was able to go hunting this past year with oldest son Wes and grandson Matthew and take some fishing trips with grandchilden. He was kind, sweet, loved to joke, garden, his garage, and spending time with family and friends. Ted will be missed everyday. His positivity was contagious, always wearing a smile that reminded you of the simple and genuine happiness in life. When we are looking for him, remember that he has only “gone fishin” and we will see him again. Funeral Services will be held at St Paul’s Community Church on October 21, 2020 at 10:00 am, (with limited capacity). St Paul’s is located at 8001 W. 23rd Ave, Lakewood Colorado 80214. Memorials may be sent to St Paul’s Community Church. Ted will be laid to rest at Golden Cemetery accompanied by his immediate family.
