January 15, 1962 - February 21, 2014 Steven Anthony Aguirre passed away February 21, 2014, at the age of 52. Steve was born to Connie and Anthony (Tony) Aguirre January 15, 1962 in Denver, Colorado. Steve is preceded in death by his birth father; Anthony (Tony) Aguirre, step-father; Jimmy Chavez, brother; Michael (Tete) Aguirre and his step-brother; Jimmy Chavez Jr. Steve was the middle child of the blended family of 7. Steve is survived by his mother; Connie Chavez, sister; Florence Aguirre Chavez and family, sister; Yolanda Muniz family, and youngest sister; Sabrina Chavez Gazotti family as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Steve has 2 sons; Gene Vigil who is currently engaged Steven Aguirre Jr, who has a son; Davien and daughter; Ileanna. Steve lived with his girlfriend Noel in Federal Heights at the time of his passing. Before his many surgeries and longtime illness Steve worked as a bouncer at Knob Hill. Steve was a fun loving guy that enjoyed socializing with his many friends. Our mother Connie always said that he never needed a diploma as he would be able to get through life with his charm and outgoing personality. Steve suffered throughout his adult life with many painful and debilitating surgeries. Steve tried very hard to overcome them but sadly started losing his zest for life. As hard as it is for us to say goodbye we do know that he is no longer in pain or suffering. We would like to thank Noel for loving and accepting Steve with all his craziness and for standing by his side throughout all these struggles and set backs. Steve has a support system that consisted of his paper pushing...doctor, lecturing sister; Sabrina and his cousin Joe who tried desperately to try and keep him in line. Steve will forever be known to his mother Connie as her Kool Kat and will forever be missed by his entire family. A Celebration of life will be held at Amazing Grace Church (3325 S Federal Blvd) Saturday March 1st at 12:00pm. Steve's family invites all to a Potluck reception following the service.
