January 30, 1933 ~ August 19, 2015 of Littleton, Colorado passed away on August 19, 2015.  Shirley was born in Mitchell, NE on January 30, 1933. She graduated from Liberty High School in Morrill, NE and attended Business School in Denver.  In Denver Shirley met the man of her dreams, Jack C. Pierce whom she married and began her family with.  Shirley was known for her flair as a trendy homemaker and her love of children which grew into a 37 year career with Jefferson County Schools.  She had her longest tenure at Columbine High School along with earlier days at Dutch Creek Elementary School.  Shirley delighted in knowing all the staff and students she worked with through the years and never really thought of retiring.  Those enduring friendships were treasures to Shirley along with her favorite group of Pokeno girlfriends who spent many a Monday afternoon laughing and playing. The family wishes to thank all of Shirley’s lifelong friends and the entire Columbine High School family for many wonderful years of friendship, care and support. Shirley is survived by her son, Brian (Sharon ) Pierce, Westminster, CO, her most beloved grandson, Alec Pierce, Westminster, CO, sisters Patricia (Ed) May, Arvada, CO, Eva Kay (Lon) Harman, Sun City, AZ,  Brother, Richard (Dee) Weinmaster, Torrington, WY,  sister-in-law, Edna Weinmaster, Scottsbluff, NE along with loved nieces,  nephews and extended family members. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jack C. Pierce, beloved son, Christopher J. Pierce, dear brother Don Weinmaster, along with loving father and mother, David and Anna Weinmaster. Shirley will be greatly missed as she was known and loved by many and leaves countless memories to be treasured by those who were honored and blessed by her generous love and kind spirit. According to Shirley’s wishes a private memorial will be held at a later date.  Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Audubon Society or a charity of choice in memory and honor of Shirley Ann Pierce.
