Sheila Marie Hurtado

In loving memory of Sheila Marie Hurtado. Sheila entered into eternal life at the age of 61 on September 24, 2024, surrounded at home by her loved ones.

She was born on July 19th, 1963, in Denver Colorado which is the same city where she passed. Sheila was best known for her vibrant, positive outlook on life! She had the most beautiful smile and her laugh was contagious! She was so loved by her family and friends. Many of her friends became family. She enjoyed traveling, riding her motorcycle, attending functions of many kinds with loved ones, and she really loved her job! She was in the dental field since her early 20's, most recently she was an office manager at Elson Dental where she created a second family. Sheila was hard not to love! Always so helpful, loving and friendly! 

She is survived by her mother Jenny Apodaca, sister Sherry Apodaca, her children, Christina, Louie, Jeremiah & Brianna, Bianca, Jennifer, April and Desiree. Ex-husband JR Hurtado and boyfriend Lenard Munoz. Along with her children, she had 23 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Sheila was preceded in death by her grandparents, Margaret and Albert Herrera, her birthday twin Luis Rodriguez, along with multiple other distant family members and friends. 

Celebration of life will be held at Wheat Ridge United Methodist Church 7530 W 38th Ave, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033 on Monday, October 7th at 10:00 a.m. Service to be led by Pastor Randy Romero.

The family is asking that attendees dress in light or bright clothing, or any Denver sports team. Nothing dark, as we'd like to honor her bright personality.
