Ruthie Williams

Ruth Anne Williams (Ruthie), 72, of Golden, Colorado, passed away on November 17, 2023.

Ruthie was born on March 11, 1951, to Frances Stephens and Vernon Upp in Boone, Iowa. Ruthie graduated from Golden High School in 1969, and married Theodore Day, Sr. in October. They had had two children, Sandra Day and Theodore Day, Jr. They divorced in 1983. Ruthie married Rick Williams June 26, 1993, and gained three bonus daughters, Susan, Stephanie and Crissy.

Ruthie graduated with an associates degree from Red Rocks Community College in 1985, she worked about 10 years at Jefferson County as a building department administrator. Then she worked at St. Andrews and Holy Cross as an office administrator. She found her calling as a Stampin’ Up and Mary Kay distributor and continued this passion until she passed.

Ruthie enjoyed gardening, cooking, singing, crafting and spending time with family. She spent many years involved with Girl Scouts, as a leader and volunteer. She was extremely creative and designed beautiful cards and crafts. She enjoyed learning about her family history, and she loved sharing her knowledge with everyone. She was an avid supporter and rescuer of dogs through Rocky Mountain Collie/Sheltie Rescue and she always enjoyed the companionship of at least one cat.

Ruthie was predeceased by her mother Frances, her father Vernon and her brother Darrel. She is survived by her husband Rick, her daughter Sandi, her son Ted, her stepdaughters, Susan, Stephanie and Crissy, her 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at Faith Lutheran Church, in Golden on December 20, 2023, at 10:30am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Rocky Mountain Collie/Sheltie Rescue, an organization that Ruthie loved and felt strongly about.
