May 20, 1934 - March 18, 2014 79, Ruth Kathleen Korthuis, kind and loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away on March 18th, 2014. Ruth is survived by her husband of 57 years Les and her children Julie, Bonnie, Linda and Steve. Ruth grew up in Illinois and South Dakota before moving to Golden, Colorado 60 years ago. She was a talented person, but best remembered for being a Kindergarten teacher at Mitchell Elementary for 20 years. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Golden. Ruth and Les excelled at hospitality and welcomed many people into their home over the years. Ruth loved traveling and music. In the past she was very involved in church with children's ministries, youth ministries, choir, international student ministry and playing the piano and organ. She love spending time with family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends. She is now with her precious Savior, Jesus. A memorial celebration will be held at First Baptist Church of Golden, 1805 Washington Street on Sunday March 30th at 2:30 pm. Private interment will be held at Fort Logan Cemetery at a later date.
