Ronald Joseph Cito

January 19, 1936 — February 11, 2017

Ron Cito, 81, of Arvada, passed away on February 11, 2017 at home with loving family and friends present. Ron was born and raised in North Denver’s Little Italy, surrounded by his large Italian family. He attended Cathedral High School, graduated from Trinidad State College, then tried out with the Denver Broncos. Following in his father’s footsteps, he worked as an electrician for over 50 years, eventually retiring from Rocky Flats. Ron loved softball, skiing, and scuba diving and instructed all three, with a passion for teaching children, including those with special needs. He also enjoyed traveling, camping and fishing and tied his own flies. Having ridden motorcycles all his life, Ron was a respected member of the Sons of Italy, and retired as Road Captain from the Gruppo di Motocicletta. Ron’s tireless work ethic never ceased and at the age of 72 he and Kimmie had the opportunity to buy back the family restaurant that his Great Aunt and Uncle started in 1921 - Patsy’s Inn. On Sunday’s you could always find him watching the Bronco game, even when he had pizza’s and homemade pasta to make. He loved it there, but in August, Ron and Kimmie decided to close Patsy’s to spend time together. Ron will be most remembered for his sense of humor, his respect for people, and his wealth of wisdom. Everyone whose life he touched has fond memories and an amusing story to tell. His second wife Linda passed away in 2000. Ron leaves a loving extended family: his wife Kimmie; his first wife Michael Ann; their four children: Vicky (Bob), Susie (Dean), Michael (Maragaret) and Rick; Kim’s children: Heather, Amanda and Evan; his Mother-in- law, Nina; Brother-in- law, Paul; Sister and Brother-in-law Heidi and Lou; Sister and Brother-in- law Cinda and Mick; 19 Grand and Great Grandchildren, cousins and good friends. Ron will be missed by all. January 19, 1936 – February 11, 2017 Services will be held Wednesday February 22, 2017 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 3549 Navajo St., Denver CO 80211.
