Robert William O'Sullivan

December 4, 1942 — January 24, 2018

Robert William O’Sullivan passed away on January 24th at the age of 75. He leaves behind his wife of almost 50 years, Brenda, daughter Rebecca, son-in-law Patrick, granddaughter McKenna, brother Tom, sisters-in-law Patsy and Linda and numerous extended family members. Bob, born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, was a graduate of the University of Tennessee, and, after college, he and Brenda settled in Virginia Beach, VA where they spent almost 40 years. Employed as an Insurance Broker, Bob enjoyed a successful career which allowed him to provide a wonderful life for his family, travel extensively and befriend so many amazing people. His knowledge within his industry was held in high regard by many, and so, when he retired at the age of 58, several companies approached and asked him to do consulting work for them. Bob enjoyed the opportunity to continue doing the work he loved, while simultaneously enjoying his retired lifestyle. He especially loved to combine work with another of his favorite passions, eating! Everyone knows that Bob only had three kinds of meetings: breakfast meetings, lunch meetings and dinner meetings. It was the only way to do business! Recently, Bob and Brenda left their life and home in Virginia Beach and moved to Colorado in order to be near Rebecca and Patrick, and to watch their favorite granddaughter grow up. Bob also loved the mountains and was thrilled to have a beautiful new home, just two blocks west of Rebecca, with gorgeous views. This past summer, he would sit outside on his patio for hours at a time, just taking in Colorado’s beauty from his very own backyard. He absolutely loved it! Our family is so blessed to have had the privilege to have loved, and be loved by, such an outstanding man. He was the absolute epitome of what a husband, father, friend and professional should be, and there is no way to adequately put into words just how much he, and his infectious personality, will be missed.
