Bob was born May 14, 1934, in Glasgow, Montana the second of six children. Bob's interest in automotive repair began at an early age; he rebuilt his first engine around the age of 14 or 15 using a red wagon to haul the engine. After losing his father at age 18, he took to the hopping rail cars and traveled the northern US. At the age of 19, he joined the Air Force. In the late 1950's he met his wife Margaret (LaFond) in Great Falls, Montana. In 1967, they adopted an infant daughter, Barbara. The family enjoyed fishing trips to Houser Lake, Montana every weekend during the summer. The family moved to the Westminster, Colorado area in 1979. Bob worked for an Exxon service station on south Colorado Boulevard in the 80's, and then went to work for Astro Automotive Repair in Westminster until he retired in 1997. He worked from his Westminster home repairing cars for friends and acquaintances until May of 2004. He was diagnose with dementia 7 ½ years ago, but still enjoyed outings with his daughter, Barbara. They went fishing together and did repairs to the family vehicles, even did a timing belt together! Bob lived at home with his wife, daughter, and great-granddaughter, Aubrianna, the apple of his eye; she could make him smile when nothing else would. He is survived by his wife, Margaret, daughter, Barbara (Douglas) Zavertnik, and great-granddaughter Aubrianna.
