May 8, 1941 - October 13, 2014 Bob was born and raised in North Denver, the son of Helen and Frank Cavanaugh. His life-long pal was his younger brother, David. He attended Mt. Carmel Grade and High Schools as well as three years at Regis College, while working at Public Service Co. of Colorado. He enjoyed a variety of activities and kept in contact with many of his classmates throughout his life. In 1963 Bob met, then married MaryAnn Schiel in 1964. They lived in Denver and moved to Golden where they have resided for over 30 years. He was the ultimate sports fan with season tickets to the Broncos, C.U. and the Rockies. He could talk games, players and coaches with the best of buddies and fans. His love of music spanned from country to classical. In addition, his joys included movies, eating out and especially his beloved little dog, "Lexie". Bob had a knack for making friends in every age group --- kids to seniors--and had the ability to remember something special about everyone he met. He enjoyed many different discussions and shared his opinion to any one who would listen. Bob remained very active until recently when he developed a difficult respiratory illness. He passed peacefully at Lutheran Hospice on October 13th. He is survived by his wife MaryAnn, brother David, sister-in-law Loretta, brothers-in-law John (Joan) and Lloyd (Betty), several top-rate nieces and nephews, plus a special Grandniece, and some special grandnephews, his beloved cousin Pam and family, as well as countless family and friends.
