December 13, 1946 - January 18, 2014 Bob was born on December 13, 1946 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Denver. He was the youngest of three children born to Paschal Di Pilla and Florence Orico. Bob resided in Arvada. Bob passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 9:45 PM after a long and hard three year battle against cancer. He served in the United States Air Force at Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland, Kadena Air Force Base in Okinawa and George Air Force Base in California before his Honorable Discharge on September 26, 1971. Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, cooking, sporting events, travel and spending time with family and friends. Bob met his lifetime friend, Russ Trickler, in grade school. He and Russ were like brothers that neither one had. Bob was a man of great humor. He enjoyed life to the fullest. He took pride in his family and friends, and went to great lengths to help those in need. He was a very selfless person. Bob was deeply respected as evidenced by the fact that others came to him for advice which was held in strict confidence. Bob is survived by his beloved partner of 7 years, Anita Golden, his daughter and son-in-law Eugenie and Michael Funke, and son Paul Di Pilla. Bob has 2 grandchildren, Jeremiah and Rachel, sisters and brother-in-law, Mary Cleese, Virginia and Ron Lane. Bob is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Funeral ceremony will be held on Friday, January 31st, 2014, 10 a.m. at Fort Logan Cemetery. Rosary and Celebration of Life will be the same date at 12:30 p.m. at St Francis of Assisi, 2746 5th Street, Castle Rock CO 80104. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to StandUp2.Cancer.org, in the name of Robert Di Pilla
