Richard Gilbert Lovato

Richard Gilbert Lovato was born January 23rd 1961 in Denver, CO. He passed away a happy grandfather on January 13th, at the age of 60, in his home in Commerce City, Colorado. He was an ambitious man that stood strong until the end. As a child, Rick spent most of his time with his brothers and sisters running around the Globeville, Elyria, Swansea neighborhood, always finding a way to get into some good old fashioned trouble. Life lessons came at a heavy cost for Rick but he never forgot who he was or where he came from and he never folded. Minding your business was a must around him. In 1977 Rick met the love of his life, Theresa Gutierrez when they were 16, and they were introduced by Theresa’s brother Ray. They fell in love and built a life together. They had 4 children; Melissa Trujillo, Ricky Lovato, Linette Gutierrez, and Angelica Lovato. He loved his family dearly and enjoyed spending time making everyone laugh. He had a dry sense of humor that would cause an uproar in any setting. It was definitely not for the faint of heart. Rick is survived by his children Melissa, Rick, Linette, and Angelica, 15 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and his sister Anna and mother Mary. He is proceeded in death by his wife Theresa, his sisters Michelle and Dini and his brothers Tony and Jimmy. May He Rest In Peace
