Ricardo Abeyta Velasquez

Ricardo Abeyta Velasquez born June 5th 1947 and has gone to heaven on September 8th 2016. He was survived by wife Cynthia, children, Ricardo, Danielle (Benjamin), Kristal (Isiah), Benito and granddaughter Mariah. Preceded in death by parents Benito and Delia Velasquez. Brother of Ricarda, Delia (proceeded in death), Benita, Carolyn, Leonard and Robin. Ricardo, a poor Mexican kid born on a cattle ranch in southern Colorado with a God-Given gift of music. He had absolute pitch and became an accomplished classical pianist. Always true to our country roots, he was equally comfortable playing county and Jazz for those of us with a less-than-acquired-taste in the fancy-schmancy. He was the loving husband of Cynthia Velasquez they shared 49 years of marriage together and had four wonderful children and one adored granddaughter. He retired from the Colorado Department of Transportation after 19 years of service as a M2 - Highway Maintenance worker. He will be remembered as a caring, loving and hardworking man with a true passion for music. Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday September 20, 2016 at New Life in Christ Church 1380 Ammons St. Lakewood, Co 80214
