Philip K Lau, of Arvada, Colorado died on April 14, 2021. Tragically killed in an automobile accident his unexpected death at the age of 82 has created a void in the life of his family. Phil was born in Honolulu Hawaii on June 5, 1938 and was the third of seven siblings. He attended St. Louis High school before joining the Navy and upon discharge moved to California to attend college. He graduated from San Francisco State, UC Berkeley and held a PhD from the University of Southern California. He spent 38 years as a professor at De Anza college in Cupertino, California. He retired in 2007 and relocated to Colorado. There he was still able to follow his beloved 49’ers, Warriors and Giants. He spent his final years fishing, travelling, playing golf and enjoying his family. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Maria, his children Denyce Nazzisi, Andrew Masur, Kristen Barden and Ann Grover. He leaves behind his beloved grandchildren, Sebastian and Teagan Nazzisi, MacKenzie, Clayton and Cooper Barden. He is also survived by his siblings, Gert Graham, Laurence Lau, Virginia Martin, Millie Aslett, Joan Martin and Pam Martin. Per Philip’s wishes he has been cremated and will be interred at the National Memorial Military Cemetery of the Pacific in Honolulu, Hawaii. He also asked for his family to scatter a portion of his ashes in the Kalalau Valley in Kauai, Hawaii. In remembrance of our much beloved husband, father and grandfather a donation may be made to the American Diabetes Association in his name.
