On Sunday, February 7, 2021, Paul Leski, age 86, passed away peacefully in his sleep, succumbing to complications resulting from Alzheimer’s and COVID-19. Paul was born in Mochule, Poland in 1934, and immigrated as a refugee to the United States in 1949, settling in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He became a U.S. citizen in 1959 and served in the U.S. Army, during which time he was stationed near Frankfurt, Germany. While stationed in Germany, he met Liselotte, and after she immigrated to the U.S., they were married on April 2, 1960. They raised one daughter, Tanja Marie Leski. Paul worked as a machinist and inspector, including nearly 20 years at the Rocky Flats Plant near Denver, Colorado. He enjoyed tinkering and creating, from cars to carpentry, and often had a mechanical pencil and ruler at the ready in his shirt pocket protector. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Liselotte Leski, daughter Tanja Marie Leski, and his faithful kitty Smokey. Funeral services are not planned at this time. In remembrance of Paul Leski’s life and remarkable journey, donations may be made to the International Rescue Committee, a charity organization that provides support for refugees internationally, including opportunities for refugees to thrive in America. https://www.rescue.org/
