Our dearest Pat May of Arvada, Colorado passed away on her 86th birthday, August 17, 2024. Pat was born in Mitchell, Nebraska to David and Anna Weinmaster. She had two brothers and two sisters and was always very close to her siblings and relatives. After high school, Pat moved to Denver to pursue a career following her sister, Shirley. She worked for International Harvester Company as an executive secretary for several years along with Jeffco Schools.
The man of her dreams came along, Edward May, whom she married on September 21, 1957. They bought their home in Arvada in 1961, where she remained for 63 years. Pat loved her neighbors, friends and community so very much. She was a true friend and was always near to lend a kind word, a smile and a great story. Those endearing friendships were treasures to Pat.
Pat was also a fabulous homemaker, stylish and classy. She and Ed took great pride in their home, and it always showed. Pat was a friend to all she met, and her community truly was her joy.
Pat was preceded in death by her loving husband Edward May; her parents, David and Anna (Sommers) Weinmaster; her brother, Don Weinmaster, and her sister, Shirley Pierce. She is survived by her sister, Eva K. Harman, Glendale, AZ; brother, Richard (Dee) Weinmaster, Torrington, WY; sister-in-law, Edna Weinmaster, Scottsbluff, NE; nephew, Brian (Sharon) Pierce, Colorado City, CO; great nephew, Alec Pierce; niece, Lori (Brad) Lockman, Pierce, CO; niece, Gaylene (Russell) Reisig, Morrill, NE; and niece, Nancy Weinmaster, Williamsburg, VA, along with great nieces and nephews.
Please join the family in a Celebration of Life on Sunday, September 15, 2024 at the Indian Tree Golf Club, 7555 Wadsworth Blvd., Arvada, CO 80003 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Light refreshments will be served. As per Pat’s request there will be a private interment at Fort Logan National Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers we ask that all who wish to memorialize our dear Pat to engage in acts of kindness.
