August 28, 1925 - October 13, 2014 Pat Johannes of Arvada, Colorado passed away on Monday, October 13, 2014 from complications associated with Alzheimer's disease, a battle she bravely fought to the end. She was born on August 28, 1925 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Parents were Ida Mae and Otto Meyers. She married Jack Johannes in 1942 and they moved to Denver, Colorado in 1953 to pursue other dreams. She was the ultimate homemaker and mother. The most important thing in her life was her children. It did not matter what they needed or when, she was there to help. Pat helped run two family owned businesses, The Family Café Restaurant and Allendale Standard Service Station. She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents. Since Pat became a widow at a young age, dancing became a way of life for her. Up until a year ago she continued to dance three times a week. Her dancing partner, Verlan held a very special spot in her heart. Another highlight for her was when all of her brothers and sisters came to Colorado for a surprise 80th birthday party in her honor. She stayed extremely active with the things she loved such as sewing, playing cards, reading, crocheting, cooking, baking (she loved her cookies), a trip to Blackhawk on occasion and by far helping others in their time of need. Other family members or a friend in need always came before hers. Pat was a very loyal fan of the Denver Broncos. Our prayer is that you have found peace with the Lord and your confusion has lifted. She is survived by her three children; Bob (Alice) Johannes, Littleton, Colorado, Bill (Karen) Johannes, Arvada, Colorado, and Jean (Don) McEvoy, Severance, Colorado. She had seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Pat was also blessed with 6 sibllings, Sis (Joe) Hunter, Chandler, AZ, Charles (Pat) Meyers, Greensburg, PA, Shirley (James) Ziegler, Westerville, OH, Donald (Dolly) Meyers, Sorrento, FL, David (Carolyn) Meyers, Murrysvile, PA, Lillian (Richard) Schumaker, Sorrento, FL. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 24, 2014 in the chapel at Spirit of Christ Church, 7400 W. 80th Avenue, Arvada, CO. A luncheon reception will follow at the same location. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in her honor to the Alzheimer's Association 455 Sherman Street, Suite 500, Denver, CO 80203
