Loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother Nellie Marie Hoedel, age 93, passed away quietly on July 16, 2021 at the home of her daughter and son in law, Cynthia and David Goodlette. She was born February 14, 1928, along with her identical twin sister (Nettie) in Boulder, Colorado to Harry and Doris Jenkins of Louisville, Colorado. Nellie graduated from Louisville High School in 1946 and soon after began dating her future husband, Paul Hoedel. They quickly fell in love and were married in a small ceremony on March 21,1948 at the Methodist Church in Louisville, Colorado. Having a family was a top priority for the newlyweds and they proceeded to welcome four children into their lives. The eldest, Gary Len was born on April 25, 1949. Then along came Curtis Paul on January 8, 1952, Cynthia Lucille on September 25, 1957, and on June 29, 1962 their family was complete with the birth of Christine Marie. Nellie was a gentle and caring person who always put her family’s needs above her own. She was a wonderful baker and had a knack for making delicious pies, cakes, and especially her infamous raisin filled cookies! Nellie is predeceased by Paul, her beloved and cherished husband of 64 years, sister and brother-in-law Mildred and Harold Conway, sister Marjorie Barday, brother and sister-in-law Laverne and Helen Jenkins, brother-in-law Delbert Rooks, brother and sister-in-law Harry and Veneta Jenkins. She is survived by her twin sister Nettie L. Rooks of Boulder Colorado, and children: son Gary L. Hoedel and wife Jeanie of Grand Junction, Colorado, son Curtis P. Hoedel of Longmont, Colorado, daughter Cynthia L. Goodlette and husband David of Elizabeth, Colorado, and daughter Christine M. Little and husband Phillip of Flower Mound, Texas. Surviving grandchildren are: Cheryl R. Spickard, Gary C. Hoedel, Amanda M. Hoedel/McGregor, Elizabeth N. Hoedel and Bion R. Little. Surviving great-grandchildren are: Douglas, Briana, Matthew, Cheyenne, Angela, Joey, Garrett, and Kalel. Surviving step great-grandchildren are: Amanda and Cody Surviving great-great grandchildren are: Natalie, Lily, Benjamin, and Lincoln Surviving step great-great grandchildren are: Addison Please join us in celebrating the life of Nellie Marie (Jenkins) Hoedel.
