September 5, 1922 - March 19, 2012 Mildred Clara Leach (Millie) of Aurora, CO died on March 19, 2012 at Denver Hospice. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that Millie loved. She was born September 5, 1922, in Lombard Illinois to Henry and Alma Merz. Her father was a carpenter and built many homes throughout Illinois and Wisconsin. Her loving mother raised seven children, and her memory has lived on in many generations of caring beautiful mothers and sons. Millie's devotion to her family and friends will be forever remembered by all she knew. Her meals can never be duplicated because the secret ingredient and success to all of them was her loving hard work. She freely gave much of her time to caring for her husband Pete, daughter Sandy, son Bobbie and grandchildren. She is the doting loving wife, sister, mother and grandmother that is an example of what we strive to be. Millie was an active member of St. Marks Lutheran church of Aurora Colorado and also belonged to the Gold Star Wives. She is survived by her loving son Robert Leach of Denver, sisters Ruth (Merz) Dettman and Grace (Merz) Danielson of Illinois, brother Henry (Hank) Merz of Illinois, granddaughters Lisa (Matt) DeLange, DaeAun Leach of Denver, grandsons Erik (Sylvia) Ziegler of Henderson, Joshua Leach of Arvada, Kyle Leach of Aurora, 6 great-grandchildren Sara, Jennifer, Levi, Andrew, Joel DeLange, Phillip Ziegler, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Wellington Robertson (Pete) Leach of Aurora, mother Alma (Exner) Merz, father Henry Merz of Illinois, sisters Leona (Merz) Stene of Portland Oregon, Gladys (Merz) Freier, Irene (Merz) Duddridge of Illinois, and her darling daughter Sandra (Sandy) Ziegler of Henderson. A service will be held on Monday, March 26, 2012 at 10:30A.M. at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 111Del Mar Circle, Aurora Colorado 80011, with Pastor Inga Oyan Longbrake presiding. Mildred will be laid to rest with her husband, who was an Army Veteran of 27 years. A private internment will be held by the family at Ft. LoganNational Cemetery Memorials given in Mildred's name may be given to St. Mark's Lutheran Church of Aurora.
