Michael W. Brink

Michael W. Brink passed away June 10, 2019 in Arvada, CO after a long bout with cancer. He was born on February 13, 1939 in Correctionville, IA to his parents Wayne and Evelyn Brink, and grew up in Sioux City, IA with his parents and his sister Connie. He married Joan (Wilson) Brink in 1960, and together they raised four daughters in Arvada, CO: Kim Brink, Tammie Scherrer, Susan Schenbeck, and Jill Gilpatrick. Mike loved spending time with his family, especially with his grandchildren Chantz, Adlee, and Grayson Schenbeck, Sean and Connor Gilpatrick, and Dillon and Adam Scherrer. He loved having everyone gather at his and Joan’s home to share holiday meals, or to enjoy pizza and a movie with family members. He also loved taking Joan for drives to the mountains on the weekends. He was passionate about his hobby of flying radio controlled airplanes, and was a long time member of Arvada Modelers. He could often be found in his basement workshop, repairing one of his own planes, or building one for a friend. He was preceded in death by both of his parents, and is survived by his loving wife Joan, his sister Connie Sapin, his daughters and their families. He will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, Mike asked that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation, www.alz.org. Memorial Service 11:00 AM, Friday, June 28, 2019 at Arvada Presbyterian Church 5592 Independence St. Arvada, CO 80002. Reception to follow services in Arvada Presbyterian Church reception hall. In lieu of flowers donations my be made to the www.alz.org. their address is: altzheimer's association, PO box 96011, Washington DC, 20090.
