Michael Frank Okeneske

August 17, 1940 — April 23, 2017

Michael Frank Okeneske, 76, of Lakewood, Colorado, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 23rd at Collier Hospice Center, in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. Born in Coldwater, Michigan, to Mae and Harry Okeneske, Michael was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Mickie Louthan and by his sons Michael (Rusty) and Martin (Scott). He is survived by his daughter Lisa Horswill, his sister, Pat Azzolina, his former wives Lu Ann Stone, Toni Hoover, and Faye Okeneske, his step-children Heather, Carl, Jim, and Tina, and numerous grand children, great grand children, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mike is known to many people in the area through owning and managing several bars and clubs. He started out owning Seagram's Inn and the Gay 90s with his father. Later on, he owned Pastime, Malfunction Junction, Morrison Street, and others. Some time later, he became the manager of the American Legion Post 17 in Edgewater, and then Post 161 in Arvada. In his later years, Mike was involved in a few small business ventures doing restaurant supply and courier services. A celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, April 30th at American Legion, Post 178, 1655 Simms St., Lakewood, CO 80215.
