October 28, 1981 - April 4, 2014 Michael (Mike) Brumfield passed away unexpectedly on April 4, 2014. He was a fun, warm, loving, giving soul who helped others every chance he could, but was strongly independent and would never accept any help for himself. Michael enjoyed dirt-biking with his older brother, Kevin, as well as with the whole family. He loved being outdoors and went camping every chance he had, and with that love, passed on his love of fishing to his son, Keaton. He looked forward to his quiet time with his daughter, snuggling on the couch watching TV and having one or both of his dogs joining them. Michael and his girlfriend, Amanda, enjoyed cooking together and trying new foods, walking their dogs out at the Westminster Hills Dog Park. They would go to Standley Lake frequently with friends and his children. Michael and his mom took all the kids one year camping, horseback riding, and swimming in the hot springs at Salida. His mom and step-dad, James were mini-social directors and took the family on outings whenever they could for new experiences, like rafting down the Colorado River, ‘over- night' ski trip at Keystone where his children learned to ski; the family had fun out at Jackson Lake camping and playing with a boat, tossing everyone around in the water. We have had beautiful Christmas's and birthdays with the family. Michael (as well as most of the family) had his first trip to California to visit his mom and step-dad, just a few years ago. He experienced the fun of surfing and boogie boarding, but went down the beach from us so we wouldn't see him crash, silly man. Recently, he and Amanda spent a night at Copper Mountain with his brother, Kevin and his wife, Marlee. The boys snowboarded while the girls enjoyed the town. On his own, Mike liked to build model cars, RC cars, mini-bikes, go-carts, shooting his bow arrow, and throwing knives, and Keaton learned and enjoyed all of his father's hobbies. Michael was an urban ‘McGiever' type of personality where he could fix anything with unordinary means. He had the mind of an engineer and he was always tinkering on something. He made a 20' seesaw for the kids, a huge tree swing over at Woodland Hills where he lived, and an old fashioned potato gun. Michael is survived by his Mother, Marilyn (Brumfield) Hill and her husband, James of California; his Father, Dennis Brumfield and his wife, Lucy. His older brother, Kevin Brumfield 33, and his wife, Marlee and their children: Haili 20, Josiah 17, Alexis 15, Aubrey 13, and Callen 2; his son, Keaton 13, daughter, Laryssa 11, and their mother, Laurel Parenteau; his two step-sisters Randi 22 and Shannon Hill 20 of Florida; his Grandmother Arleen (Brumfield) Bratcher and Uncle Kneil Johnson of Montana; Aunt Wenda (Brumfield) and husband Bill Lewis and their daughters, Trina and Kelly and their familes. Uncles Brian and Duane Brumfield of California and their families. The last 9 years of his life was shared with his love by his side, Amanda King. Michael had 100's of friends throughout his life. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Michael's life was held April 12, 2014, 2-5pm, at the VFW in Northglenn, Colorado
