March 21, 1929 - August 30, 2013 Melvin Edward Thoutt, Sr. of Arvada passed away Friday, August 30, 2013 at his home, he was 84 years old. He was born March 21, 1929 in Gill, Colorado to the late Carl Amelia Thoutt, Sr. In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by two brothers, William Thoutt and George Thoutt and one sister Dorothy Rusch. Melvin enjoyed attending auctions, driving grandchildren on ATV's, tractors, and long walks with family. He is survived by his wife, Edna May Thoutt; his five children, Pam Piette, Kathy Jerry Rutherford, Melvin Thoutt, Jr., Kevin Thoutt, Lisa Juan Garcia; 11 grandchildren, Shawn Rutherford, Jeremy Rutherford, Josh Dobberstein, Dawn Dobberstein, Brittany Thoutt, Ryan Garcia, Amber Thoutt, Brandon Rutherford, Justin Thoutt, Jered Thoutt, and Brennen Thoutt; 4 great grandchildren, Sophia Dobberstein, Kyler Dobberstein, Jayden Sanchez, and Kasyn Dobberstein; four brothers, Carl Thoutt, Larry Thoutt, Harvey Thoutt, and Robert Thoutt; two sisters, Mary Ann Helzer and Burdetta Alles; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends also survive him. Services will be held on Monday, September 9, 2013 at 11:00 at Faith Bible Chapel, West Campus Family Worship Center Atrium, 6250 Wright St. Arvada, CO 80004. Rev. John Malito officiating. Interment with military honors will be at Fort Logan National Cemetery,4400 W. Kenyon Dr. Denver, CO 80236 Staging Area “C”, following the service. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Malesich and Shirey Funeral Home of Arvada.
