Maxie was born the son of Juan and Antonia Alvarado of Big Springs, Nebraska in 1935 where he was one of 6 children. he is survived by his sibling Hope Alvarado. After serving in the US Air Force, he married Nellie G Rodriguez on June 9,1960 in Aurora, Colorado. They lived together in Northglenn, Colorado and raised a family of 5: Marvin "Marv" Rodriguez and wife Sandra, Duane "Duey" Alvarado and wife Karen, Craig "Craigie" Alvarado and wife Gina, Cheryl Alvarado, Christine "Chrissy" Walsh and husband Shawn.
He was married to the love of his life, Nellie, for 56 years. Other than his family, he loved traveling, music, bowling and fishing but his favorite was watching the Broncos.
He traveled exploring many religious sites in New Mexico, Colorado, California and Texas.
Maxie was a wonderful and loving generous father, grandfather and great grandfather and was blessed with 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
He is loved and will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
