Mary Ann Hairgrove

April 9, 1940 - February 12, 2013 Mary Ann Hairgrove, born Mary Ann Kipp on April 9, 1940 was the daughter of Charles and Hilda Kipp. She was born in Del Norte, Colorado and was raised in Creede. Mary spent her childhood years playing and then working on the family dude ranch Southwest of Creede. Mary Ann graduated from Creede High School in 1958 and went on to become a nurse. A profession she loved and retired from in 1995. Mary Ann is survived by Chuck Carnefix, her son and his wife Sharon; Steve Carnefix and his wife Tammy. There are also the children of her daughter Liei who preceded Mary Ann in death Shay and Catherine. Grand-daughter Haley the offspring of Chuck and Tyler and Victoria the offspring of Steve. From her marriage to Ray Hairgrove, who preceded her in death, Mary Ann is also survived by her step-children Charlotte, Dale, Joel and their children who all called her Grandma. Mary Ann was the oldest of five sisters. She is survived by sisters Sue, Virginia, Barbara and Jeannie. She was sister, friend and confidant to them all. Mary Ann was a pragmatic, proud and solitary woman. Her passions were her children, their children, reading, Gizmo her cat, and keeping track of her family by computer. Mary Ann could be counted on for advice in most all matters. Her notions were always sound and well thought out. Mary Ann was never monetarily gifted but because of all of the friends and family she had, she considered herself amongst the richest people in the world. Mary Ann will be sorely missed by many.
