October 9, 1934 - October 14, 2014 Marlene Thelma Kaeding, passed away October 14, 2014 from Alzheimer's Disease. She was born October 9, 1934 to Ervin Hugh Kennel and Lucy Jane Cain in Cordova, Nebraska. She grew up on area farms and attended and was baptized at the West Fairview Mennonite Church at Beaver Crossing, NE. Growing up Mennonite was always in her heart. She graduated from Friend High School in 1952. Marlene married Mervin W. Kaeding in 1957 and moved to Denver, Colorado in 1959 and went to work for Mountain Bell and US West working her way up in various positions. She retired in 1995. After retirement she traveled and spent numerous hours researching family genealogy and compiled several books with detailed information. She also, collected family member recipes and published a family cookbook. Marlene was a fan of the Denver Broncos and Colorado Rockies. She enjoyed crocheting and would crochet a doily a day. She also enjoyed spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three brothers, and one sister. Survivors include a brother Wesley Kennel of Tarkio, Missouri and a sister Laverna Kennel of Fairfax, Missouri. Three children Marilyn Ketcham (Bret) of Sheridan, WY; David Kaeding (Kandi) of Westminster, CO; Dennis Kaeding (Cindy) of Denver, CO. Four granddaughters Janelle Brafford of Billings, MT; Chelsea Bestram (Matt) of Sheridan, WY; Sara Cox (Evan) Denver, CO; and Charlotte Kaeding Kearney, NE. She also had four great grandsons. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. October 17, 2014 at Emmaus Lutheran Church 3120 Irving Street, Denver, Colorado. Burial will follow at Arvada Cemetery, Arvada, Colorado.
