April 27, 1956 - April 9, 2012 LAWRENCE, MARK ALAN passed away at his home in Westminster on April 9 at the age of 55. He is lovingly remembered by his mother, Darlene, of Wheat Ridge, and his brother and sister-in-law, Chris and Melinda, niece, Grace, and nephew, Daniel, of Westminster, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Keith. Mark will always be remembered for the love and care he showed to his family. After he became a born-again Christian, his mother was stricken with Huntington's Disease. When his father, passed away, he became her full-time care giver until she went to live in Mountain Vista Health Care Center. He had room in his heart for all of his extended family and then some. After graduating from Iver C. Ranum High School, he became a welder for Irvin Industries in Broomfield. That was only the first stop in a variety of career moves that included house painter, fence builder, fork lift driver, pit crew and rock star (not so much but he really wanted to be), plus a couple of others that have been forgotten. He always had something up his sleeve. His loves in life were playing the guitar and fixing up things to sell--guitars, boats, cars, you name it. On more than one occasion, after the first beater boat came home, he would start looking at another with a far away look in his eye. It was up to one of us to tell him "No, not ANOTHER boat" and he would respond with "Aw, I'm just looking." And after the first rust-bucket car, he would start looking at another with another far away look in his eye and it was up to one of us to tell him once again "No, not ANOTHER car." He would say, of course, "Aw, I'm just looking." That was when he started clearing space. Now he is clearing space again in heaven, in our hearts and in our minds, as we think of him. A memorial service will take place at Mountain Vista Health Center on Thursday, April 26 at 3 pm, with a reception following immediately afterwards.
