September 24, 1921 - January 22, 2012 Marion C. Lambein, 90, of Naples, Florida and West Seneca, New York, died on Sunday, January 22, 2012. Marion was the wife of Thomas S. Bainbridge of Boca Raton, Florida and Highlands, North Carolina, until his death in 1982, after 43 years of marriage. In 1985, Marion met and wed Carl J. Lambein of Naples, Florida, Highlands, North Carolina and West Seneca, New York. IN 2008, after 24 years of marriage, Mr. Lambein passed away at the age of 101. Since 1967, Mrs. Lambein had been very active in PEO, a women's philanthropic and educational organization, and served as a chapter President at one time. She was a member of the “Niners” of the Royal Poinciana Golf Club in Naples, Florida and was an avid bridge player, helping to organize and host various duplicate bridge marathons that raised money for charities in every place she lived since the 1960's. She loved to sing and was a member of the Orchard Park, New York chapter of Sweet Adelines, a women's chorale, and sang with the “Niners” at club functions. In the 1950's and -60's, she was an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star in New York State. Mrs. Lambein is survived by her brother, Wilford Prosser of New York, her two daughters, Cynthia Bainbridge of North Carolina and Suzanne Berens of Colorado and her granddaughter Kimberly Herold of North Carolina. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. A memorial service and celebration of her long life will be held at a future date and location, still to be determined.
