May 2, 1933 - November 16, 2013 Marian (Jeanie) Curtis passed away early in the morning of November 16th. As she was so often in her life, she was surrounded by her family during the last hours of her life here on earth. Jeanie was born in England in the small village of Banbury, Oxfordshire in 1933. She met and fell in love with her husband of 59 years, Don Curtis, in Oxford, England while he served there in the USAF. They returned home to Nebraska just before their first child was born. Jeanie and Don lived in Nebraska until 1965 when they moved to Colorado. Jeanie loved her English heritage and spoke often of her Auntie Chris, Auntie Jenny and her beloved Grampy and Grammy who raised her. For many years she belonged to a local British club and always spoke of the memories and adventures she had as a child and growing up in England during the war. Jeanie is survived by her husband, Don Curtis, who continues to make his home in Arvada as well as her children, Garry Curtis, Marcie Hunt (John) and Corrie Rathman, her grandchildren Krista Carey, Kara Noack, Danielle Campbell, Rachel Rathman, Tara Rathman, and Leah Farrell Robards as well as numerous great-grandchildren. Jeanie made friends easily and was loved dearly by her family. During the fall of this year, Jeanie's valiant fight against numerous health issues took a turn for the worse as the recently diagnosed lung cancer began to have more effect. While she will be sorely missed by those who knew her there is comfort in knowing that she is finally with God and her suffering has finally been relieved.
