June 9, 1916 - October 5, 2014 98, Passed away peacefully at her Arvada home on October 5th, 2014. Margaret was born in Sutton, NE on June 9th, 1916, moving to Limon when she was three. She and husband Floyd "toured" the country, returning to Colorado where they built their home in the mountains west of Denver. She retired from Martin Merietta in 1981 after 23 years. Survived by daughters Charlotte Allen, Gerry Keiser, sons Jim and Tom Allen of Arvada, seven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren, sister Helen Card of Arvada, brother Jack Lohmeier of Limon plus many nieces and nephews. Preceded by her husband Floyd Allen, sisters Lucille Morrow, Rita Seal, Virgene Vernie and brother Gerald Lohmeier. A casual memorial service will be held 1:00pm Sat., October 11th, 2014 at the Apex Community Recreation Center at 6842 Wadsworth Blvd., Arvada. Donations may be made to Collier Hospice Center 3210 Lutheran Pkwy, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033. We sat beside your bedside, Our hearts were crushed and sore; We did our best to the end, 'Til we could do no more. In tears we watched you sinking, We watched you fade away; And though our hearts were breaking, We knew you could not stay. You left behind some aching hearts, That loved you most sincere; We never shall and never will Forget you Mother dear.
