Marcia Hineline

Marcia Hineline, beloved Mother, Grandmother, and gifted educator passed away peacefully the morning of Sunday September 29, 2019 at the age of 83. She was diagnosed with ovarian cancer at the beginning of 2018, and fought bravely against all odds to live her life to the fullest until it’s end. For the many who knew and loved Marcia throughout her life, she was well known for her patient joyful spirit and greeted everyone with a smile. She was an example positivity, kindness and courage for us all. For that, we are all eternally grateful. Marcia was born in the small city of McCloud in northern California on August 27, 1936. Growing up in the mountainous region of the state, she learned to love the outdoors and developed her affection for animals of all shapes and sizes. She was an avid skier and spent most of her summers riding horses and adventuring. Her patient and calming nature lead her into the field of education. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Chico State University received her first teaching position shortly thereafter in Anchorage Alaska where her love for the outdoors and creatures of all sorts continued to grow. After two years in Alaska, she moved to Munich Germany where she continued her career as a primary education teacher as a contracted employee for the U.S. Airforce for nearly 10 years. Marcia embraced the German culture and spent all of her free time traveling Europe. She never came across a party that she wasn’t up for and partied from Octoberfest in Bavaria to the running of the bulls in Pamplona Spain. Marcia returned from Germany in 1969 and decided that the mountains of Colorado would be a great place to settle down. She married Ralph Hineline in 1970 and had her two children Kurt and Lisa in the following two years. She was a dedicated wife and mother who always prioritized love, patience and caring above all. Once Kurt and Lisa were school aged, Marcia returned to her love of teaching. She worked in Jefferson County Schools for nearly thirty years with the majority of that time as a kindergarten teacher at Fitzmorris Elementary School in Arvada. On any given day you could find Marcia singing, dancing, and painting playfully with her students. She loved her work and her students, and you could see the joy in the children’s eyes each day as she cared for each of them as if they were her very own. She retired in 2000 and moved to Golden and spent part of her time as a volunteer park ranger at Arvada reservoir. She continued to camp and fish and filled her home with animals from the local rescue shelters. In the following years, with the birth of her five grandchildren, Sophia, Cooper, Madison, Jordy and Mason she glowed with pride and carried her wallet packed with photos to share with everyone she met. She adored her grandbabies and spoiled them every chance she could get. Kurt’s wife Ericka and Lisa’s husband Chuck loved Marcia dearly and cared for her as they would their own mothers. Marcia was raised in the Catholic Church and always kept her Rosary and a Bible near. Her faith in God and Jesus was something that she spoke of proudly and provided her comfort even when her health turn it’s turn for the worse. Our family is also comforted to know that Mom has moved onto a beautiful place where she can once again adventure in the outdoors and live eternal life in peace in comfort. Behind she left her legacy of love, strength, hope and courage. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday October 4th at the St. Paul Community Church located at: 8001 W. 23rd Ave. Denver, CO 80214. A reception will be held at the Church following the service. In lieu of flowers Marcia’s family suggests that donations be made to National Ovarian Cancer Coalition (NOCC). The mission of the NOCC is to save lives by fighting tirelessly to prevent and cure ovarian cancer and to improve the quality of life for Survivors.
