February 1, 1948 ~ October 6, 2015 Lorenzo Ruben Valdivia (known by most as Lencho or Pops), 67, passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Lakewood, CO.  He was born on February 1, 1948 in Denver, CO to Jose Valdivia and Mary Ann Martel (raised by step-father George Martel). Lorenzo grew up in Denver, CO but spent quite a few years in San Diego, CA.  He was known for always living life to the fullest and never missed an opportunity to crack a joke or break out into a dance (anyone who ever saw him dance will understand this comment).  He worked a variety of jobs throughout his life and regardless of what he was doing at the time he always put 110% in everything that he did. Lorenzo was preceded in death by his parents George and Mary Ann Martel, his sister Donna (Bea) Valdivia, brother Joseph Martel, sister Theresa Martel, sister-in-law Helen Garcia and his brother Frank (Poncho) Martel. Lorenzo is survived by his siblings: Emma (Art Ledoux) Torres of Las Vegas, NM; Tony (Roberta) Trejo of Lakewood, CO; Rosalie (Kelly) Ortega; Veronica Trejo – Wheatridge, CO; Sara (Quin) Guytan of Westminster, CO; George Martel of Westminster, CO; Michael Martel of Thornton, CO; son Lawrence Valdivia of Lakewood, CO: son Anthony (Debbie) Valdivia of Lakewood, CO: son Lorenzo Maes (Felicia) of Estes Park, CO: son Lalo Valdivia of Commerce City, CO: son Lance Gunthrie of Reno, NV: his grandchildren Jeremy, Larry, Valerie, Vanessa, Calen, Aireka, Xavier and Lorenzo (Junior): great-grandchildren Amiah, Anavellea, Lilly, Anna, Frankie, Laura and Nyeli, and his loving nieces, nephews and numerous other friends and relatives. The funeral will be held at Saint Cajetans 299 South Raleigh Denver, CO with the Rosary at 10:00 am and the services following at 10:30 am on Friday October 16, 2015.  A reception will follow immediately after the services in the basement.  Burial will be set at a later date in Albuquerque, NM.
