Leon John Lubker

October 4, 1931 — February 5, 2017

Leon John Lubker was born to Henry and Ruby McCauley Lubker on October 4, 1931, in Cedar Bluffs, Nebraska. He grew up in Nickerson, Nebraska, and graduated from Fremont High School in 1949. Leon was married to Marcella Elizabeth Stalp Lubker for 20 years and to that union was born 5 children: Ann Marie, Susan Kay, Joel Leon, Pamela Lynne, and Jeffrey John. Leon worked in tool and die industry for both Sunstrand and Coors. Leon was involved in the Westminster Elks Lodge and volunteered as a mentor with Junior Achievement. He enjoyed his bowling league. In 1986, he married Doris Mae Lang Bartels. They were members of their church, St. John Chrysostom, since 1988 and enjoyed volunteering and the fellowship of their church family. His children will always remember time spent with their dad camping in mountains, playing 'trap', late night taco runs, grilled Thanksgiving turkeys, pig belly, time at the cabin, his regularly scheduled phone calls, and so much more. His grandchildren will remember Jolly Ranchers, peanut M&Ms, 'nuts & bolts', fudge, boiled peanuts , eating out in Nickerson, Yellow Bellies (Coors), and $2 bills for every occasion. He was preceded in death by his father and mother and one sister and one brother-in-law. Leon is survived by his wife, Doris; his sister, Colleen; his children Ann (Chuck) Brockman, Sue Cleveland, Joel (Dawn) Lubker, Pam (Randy) Rau, Jeff (Donna) Lubker; Susan Reid, Jeri (Lee) Blair, 17 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews, and a large extended family. The family thanks you for helping them celebrate Leon's life and invites you to join them in the Fellowship Hall for a reception.
