February 13, 1938 - June 27, 2012 74, passed away June , 2012 at his Denver, Colorado residence. Larry was born in Kansas City, MO to Joseph P. Keenan and Margaret V. (Wisner) Keenan on February 13, 1938. In Missouri, he was surrounded by loving family (The Wisner's) and very much adored by his three aunts. Aunt Pearl, Aunt Marybelle “Be be” and Aunt Lucille “Lu lu”. The family moved to Guymon, OK in 1948 where he graduated from high school in 1955. He attended college at Oklahoma University in Norman, Southwestern State College in Weatherford and Panhandle State College in Goodwell, Oklahoma. In high school and college he received many honors in Speech and Debate. While attending college, he worked at radio stations as a newsman and disc jockey which lead him to his lifelong career in Broadcasting. In 1963, he married Glenda Christine (Briles) Keenan and moved to Dodge City, KS to accept his first job in television. Throughout his career he worked as a Television Anchorman, Sales Manager and General Manager in markets which included Wichita, Dodge City and Southwest Kansas; Amarillo, TX, and Reno, NV. He predominately worked The Front Range and Western Slope of Colorado. Towards the latter part of his career, he worked as an Advertising Consultant in the Denver area. Larry enjoyed fine foods, keeping up on current events; often reading the Rocky Mountain News and The Denver Post cover-to-cover. He was an avid sports fan and supporter of the Denver Broncos, Nuggets, Avalanche and Rockies. He was known for “Betting against the odds”. Larry thought very highly of his friends and colleagues. Specifically Bob Surber and Ralph Harrison. He was passionate about his work and thankful for the guidance and support he received from them. Larry is preceded in death by his daughter Rebecca Christine; father Joseph and mother Margaret. Survived by his x-wife Glenda of Delta, CO; son Sean and daughter-in-law Jen of Logan, UT; daughter Audra of Grand Junction, CO; son Brian of Austin, TX; daughter Kara of Denver, CO; son Michael and his daughter, Malaia (only grandchild), of Grand Junction, CO. Larry was Catholic. A private family service will be held at a later date in Oklahoma. In lieu of flowers, there is a scholarship fund to be set up for his granddaughter Malaia Martinez, 2988 Babbling Brook Drive, Grand Junction, CO 81504.
