Services will be at 8743 S Ault Ln, Morrison CO 80465 on Saturday April 19, 2014 at 1:00 pm He went by Bert, Bertje or Tony. He is survived by his sisters Adriana (Sjani) Hollman and Cobi Chaney, brother-in-laws, Doug Chaney and Terry Breslin, 10 nieces and nephews, 20 grand nieces and nephews, 5 great grand nieces and nephews. Tony was the middle child of six kids all born in Rotterdam Holland. He was born January 6, 1946. His brothers and sisters were Jerry /Bert, Sjani, Ellie, and Cobi. When the family moved to the United States, Tony was 8 years old. Tony had a car accident in 1966 when he was only 20 that changed his whole life. He was in a coma for seven weeks. Before he woke up the doctors told our parents he may not make it and if he did he would never walk. Tony did both against all odds. Around May 2010 Tony started to stubble and needed to use a cane. Within a couple of months, he went from a cane to a walker to a wheel chair. The neurologist found he needed 4 out of 7 neck vertebrae's replaced. The surgery stopped him from getting worse. About a month ago, Tony began falling. He went to the hospital and then to rehab to recover. But this time, he couldn't beat the odds. He tried to fight but he was too weak. Tony did have a big heart. If you needed help, he tried to help. He went to church on Sundays. He visited with neighbors all through the neighborhoods and befriended many. Family was important to Tony. We were a close nit family. Our parents were Tony's care taker until they both past, mother 2007 and father 2010. At that time, Sjani, Cobi and Doug helped him with his every day needs. His friends knew him and accepted him for who he was and loved him. When you saw them together, you saw a deep friendship that many never see in their life time. Thank you for being part of Tony's life.
