October 16, 1921 - March 11, 2013 Sunny Setram of Arvada passed away Monday, March 11, 2013 at Collier Hospice Care Center in Wheat Ridge, he was 91 years old. Born in Port Maurant, British Guiana, Lachhman graduated from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana 1956, he lived in Chicago most of his life 1950-2012. Lachhman is survived by his daughter, Mala Setaram; Son In Law, Hans Wolfe; Granddaughter Sarah Shanti Setaram-Wolfe, and Grandson Lyndon Anand Setaram Wolfe. Brother of Chetram Setaram of Ocoee, Florida and Pahalad Setaram of Chicago, Illinois He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Lach was a humanitarian and lived an austere life. He was quite a philosopher and loved the arts and sciences. He was also a devoted Hindu. He had the wisdom and a passion for family and would not rest until he pursued his family roots in India. Which he accomplished in 1939. He was instrumental in encouraging the modernization of sanitary conditions and the education of all the children in his ancestral village. He believed boys and girls should be treated equally and deserve an education. Therefore, he benefited the whole village because others followed suit in improving their lives. He was cremated on March 13, 2013. The service was officiated by Pandit Jiban Baral. Memorial services will be planned in Chicago and his ancestral village in Allahabad, U.P., India. His ashes will be placed in the Sangam (Ganga/Jamuna Rivers).
