Kristi Lynette Konieczka was born in Golden Colorado on April 27, 1967 to Kerry and Virgil Guildner and passed peacefully to eternal life in heaven on March 25, 2018 in her home on Lookout Mountain surrounded by family. A wonderful mother, wife, daughter, sister, aunt and friend, Kristi has been the chief hand-holder, crazy-idea supporter and the biggest fan of all she loved. Kristi always had a smile and twirl in her step - radiating joy and happiness. She taught all those around her to live and love with a big heart, filling our world with love, grace and kindness. Kristi grew up on a farm on the plains of Colorado attending Fort Lupton high school, where she was a cheerleader, a homecoming queen and rode and showed horses in 4H. She attended Colorado State University obtaining a degree in Technical Journalism and Public Relations. It was at CSU that she met the love of her life - Steve Konieczka 29 years ago. Their marriage was filled with love for 25 years. The James Taylor song, "You've got a Friend," played at their wedding, and served as a theme for their wonderful marriage always. Their marriage has inspired many. Together, they raised two beautiful and amazing daughters, Tyler Jane and Bailey. Tyler Jane and Bailey were the cornerstone of her life - and she helped pave the foundation of their future lives by teaching, listening, helping and loving them both with all of her heart. Kristi truly was an extraordinary mother. As a family, they enjoyed travel, scuba diving, hiking and trail riding. They have lived on Lookout Mountain for 20 years. Kristi volunteered endless hours at Jefferson County 4H as a horse 4H leader for over 13 years, and was loved by all the kids she supported and cheered on. Kristi started her career as an Event Coordinator in Vail at the Antlers Hotel. She left the event planning industry during her daughter's younger years and became a Paraprofessional at Ralston Elementary, where she led special development and literary activities. Kristi had a special love for helping kids who needed extra attention. Kristi also launched and ran an online rustic furnishings company, Rustic Log Furniture. In 2012, she returned to the hotel / event planning industry working for the Golden Hotel as a Corporate Sales Manager, where she worked until this last year. She will be greatly missed and remembered lovingly by her husband Steve, her two daughters Tyler Jane and Tanner Jones and Bailey Konieczka, her mother Kerry Guildner, her sister Kami Guildner and Tim Gelston, her brother Corey and Ashley Guildner, her in-laws Jim and Eddy Konieczka, her sister-in-law Susan and Charlie Brennecke, and her many nieces and nephews: Josh Schmidt, Holly Brennecke, Lois Brennecke, Sara Brennecke, Karl Brennecke, Karrol Brennecke, Erin Brennecke, Corey Guildner Jr., Cayden Guildner and Carter Guildner.
