Kathleen Westlake

Kathleen Westlake of Cedaredge, Colorado passed away Sunday, September 24 in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. Kathleen was born to Kathryn and Jesse Kateron in Butte, Montana on November 13, 1925. Her early years were spent on the Kateron Homestead in Wyoming with her parents and 3 sisters; Peggy, Carol, & Helen. The family later moved to Careywood, Idaho and after high school graduation she attended the University of Idaho in Moscow. Kay loved the outdoors as well as jeeping the Grand Mesa and antique bottle collecting with her husband, Neil. She was an active member of the ESA sorority and loved volunteering after her retirement from the Regional Center in Grand Junction. Delta County Hospital, Pioneer Town, & the Senior Center of Cedaredge were some of her favorite volunteering places. Kathleen was proceeded in death by her husband, Neil D. Westlake. She is survived by her 3 children, Danetta Aggus (Ken), Donald Rutherford, Gerald Rutherford (Kathy) & 2 step children, Cathy & Dorian Westlake. She also leaves behind 7 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, & 1 great-great grandchild. There will be a celebration of her life in her beloved town of Cedaredge in November.
