Judith Ann Whelton, 78, passed away peacefully on April 5th 2016 surrounded by her family. She is survived by by her loving husband James, children Lynn (John) Harrison, Tammy (Ken) Bannick, James (Mary) Whelton, Robert (Simone) Whelton and Dana Whelton; twelve grandchildren and their spouses, nine great-grandchildren; her sisters, Barb Knutson, Mary (Paul) Servais, sisters-in-law Elaine Barber and Laura Whelton, as well as many aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents. Judy was born on April 25th 1937 in Detroit Michigan to Donald and Florence Renwick, she was the oldest of three girls. She graduated from Sexton High School in Lansing Michigan. Judy began her working career in banking at Michigan National Bank where she was a data processing clerk, working on one of the first mainframe computers in banking. She married Jim on May 11th 1963 in DeWitt, Michigan. After their marriage, Judy left the workforce to raise their family. She returned to banking in the mid 80’s retiring in 1999. In the early years of their retirement, Jim and Judy loved traveling and spending time with family. Judy was an avid reader, techno geek, loving her gadgets and social media, and using technology to keep in touch with family and friends. Memorial services will be held at St. Paul’s Community Church in Lakewood Colorado at 3:30 p.m. on Friday April 8th. Internment will be at Ft Logan National Cemetery in Denver Colorado for immediate family only. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested to please contribute in her name to a charity of your choice.
