December 20, 1953 - September 20, 2014 Joyce Frances Swanson, 60, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2014 to her eternal home. She had a long and valiant struggle against Ovarian Cancer and she did it with enormous grace and courage. Joyce is survived by her husband, David Swanson, her daughter, Lindsay (Danny) Abrams, their two darling children, Brooklyn and Madison, and daughter, Laura (Brian) Brzezicki. Joyce studied HOme Economics at Central College where she met her adoring husband of 39 years. They left Iowa and moved to Colorado where they started their life together raising two daughters and building a wonderful life of adoring friends and family. Joyce has left a lasting legacy of authentic love with her immediate and extended family and to her wide circle of friends. She brought such a kind, gentle and accepting spirit to many of her relationships which only made people want to be with her more. Joyce lived an active and healthy lifestyle and demonstrated this through her love for exercise, nutrition and healthy cooking. She led and enjoyed teaching jazzercise classes for over 25 years. She would often cook healthy meals and entertain family and friends through wonderful and celebratory dinners. Joyce also loved to travel with her family and friends and would often lead excursions to New York City with her fun loving group of girlfriends. It's an understatement to say that she was an amazing mother. She provided a consistent foundation of love and patience for her two extraordinary daughters while they were growing up. As her daughters grew up into women, they treasured their relationship with Joyce as their best friend. They will sorely miss Joyce's immense love, guidance and wisdom. Her Catholic faith was dear to her as was her own spiritual journey which nurtured her accepting, kind and loving spirit. A Memorial Service will beheld in her honor at St. Frances Cabrini (6673 W.
