Jose “Joe” Andres Morago, 81, of Denver, Colorado, passed away on January 6, 2021 at Good Samaritan Medical Center. The memorial service will be held at 11am on February 9, 2021 at Thrive Church 2720 W. 92nd Ave in Federal Heights, Colorado. Pastor David Sosa will be officiating. A private burial will be taking place at Ft. Logan National Cemetery at a later date. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Malesich and Shirey Funeral Home. Joe was born in Valdez, Colorado on November 19, 1939, and grew up in Southern Colorado. He served in the U.S. Army as part of the 501st Armored Medical Company. He was married to Debbie Morago on June 17,1990; they were married for 30 years. Joe worked as a Die Mounter for Boise Cascade, Willamette, and Weyerhauser for 23 years, and as a Bus Driver for 12 years for Adams County School District 50 and Holy Family High School. He especially loved the special needs children that he was blessed to work with. He was a loving husband and devoted father who enjoyed everything about life, including fishing in the beautiful Rockies, playing guitar, shooting pool, watching football, and visiting with family. Joe was a spiritual man who loved studying the bible and was also actively involved in his church. He had one of the warmest hearts and made a new friend almost anywhere he went. He will be missed by all but never forgotten. Joe is survived by his wife Debbie, his two children Andrea and Richard, his sisters Alice and Rose, his brother Tony, and other family and friends. Joe is preceded in death by his parents Herman and Mary Morago.
