December 11, 1961 - October 17, 2013 John was born on 12/11/61 in Denver, CO. to parents Carol S. Sargent (Mother) and Louie T. Maes (Father) and after a long battle with the disease, finally passed away from lung cancer on 10/17/13, he was preceded in death by (Maternal Grandparents) John Stuart, Lucille Stuart, and (Uncle) Leo A. Stuart. He was the firstborn of 4 boys is survived by immediate family; (Children) Charlie Pionke, Jonathon Pionke, Shereese Maes, (Grand Children) Ezekiel Pionke, Layla Paige Pionke, (Brother's) Douglas Maes, Russell T. Rohrer, Robert Rohrer, (Nephews) Douglas Maes, Jacob Maes, (Nieces) Cassandra Maes, Casey Rohrer, Terrah Rohrer, Rachelle Rohrer, (Aunt) Patricia Bird, (Cousins) Karen Manley, Tammy Manley, Rose Bird, Marcella Bird, Daniel Cambray, Matthew Cambray, Nikki Algien, Gary Algien, Michael John Schrecongost, Eric Schrecongost, Jena Parker, Chris Manley. John had many, many friends, too many to mention and he touched many, many lives. John lived life with passion and was very talented and creative. A professional song writer, artist, musician, chef, and craftsman. He created thousands of pieces of original art, wrote, recorded, and published numerous songs as well as invented many inspired original recipes, he even created and built many of his own board games. John was loved dearly and will be greatly missed. Services will be held on Friday, 10/25/13, 10:00am, at Crossroads Church 9725 W. 50th Ave. Wheatridge, CO. 80033 (50th Kipling).
